Gilbert Hauffels

Born on the 11th October 1932 in Dudelange (Luxembourg), Gilbert Hauffels volunteered for Korea in 1952.

From March 1952 to January 1953, he fought with the Second Luxembourgish contingent in the Korean War.

March 14, 1951

Seoul changes hands for the fourth time when UN forces once again liberate the South Korean capital. The city has been devastated by fighting, and its population has been reduced to a fraction of its prewar size.
