Charles Bogart
Charles Clinton Bogart was born in Coquille, Oregon on September 28, 1930 to Pierre Moses and Anna Jewel Bogart. “Clint” enlisted in the Army and served in the Korean War. During his service in Korea, he incurred a leg injury and was sent home. Shortly after his return to Oregon, he married Helen Fisher. They raised 3 children – James, Patricia and Doris. Charles Clinton Bogart died in a car accident on November 15, 1968 at the age of 38. He was survived by his wife, Helen, 3 children, 5 brothers, and 3 sisters.

Having destroyed the bulk of the North Korean army, UN troops have pressed on into North Korea and are now approaching the Yalu River. Chinese People’s Volunteers Force (CPVF) troops under veteran commander Gen. Peng Dehuai cross into North Korea and inflict serious losses on the lead units of the UN advance. The sudden appearance of Chinese forces sends the main body of UN forces reeling back to the south bank of the Ch’ŏngch’ŏn River.
