Raymond Cottrell

Ray Cottrell was a Platoon Sgt of the 31st Inf at the Chosin Reservoir and served at Inchon Landing, Hyesanjin, Chosin, and other locations. Returning home in November 1951. Retired US Army CSM Fort Knox Kentucky with 21 years service. Buried in Brandenburg Kentucky.

X Corps, a force led by U.S. Maj. Gen. Edward M. Almond, stages an audacious amphibious landing at Inch’ŏn, some 150 miles behind enemy lines. The plan, conceived by UN commander Gen. Douglas MacArthur, is an unqualified success; 10 days later Seoul is liberated.
