Tefera Woldegiorgis
Sergeant Tefera Woldegiorgis was born in 1929 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. He joined the Imperial guard in 1946. He married and have fourteen children and grandchildren. Today he lived in Assela, Southern Ethiopia.
Service Records
Sergeant Tefera began active service in the Imperial guard in 1946 and he went to the Korean expedition in 1952. When he was recruited for the war he was 23 years old. Before he went to the expedition he heard about the Korean war a year earlier when the first Kagnew Battalion was sent to Korea. His Battalion started the expedition on in June 1952.
He participated in the fierce battle which was took place at Camel Mountain in Korea on June 1952. Fortunately, his Battalion defeated the enemy and he became one of the hero. Finally, he returned to Ethiopia and served his country until 1990s. Now he became a pensioner.

Although thousands of UN troops have arrived to reinforce South Korea, months of fighting have reduced the area under their control to a 5,000-square-mile rectangle centered on the critical southeastern port of Pusan. By the time the North Korean invasion force reaches the “Pusan Perimeter,” its strength has been nearly cut in half and it is almost entirely lacking in armor.
