Raymond L. Ayon

From a young age, Raymond was fascinated by stories of war. This encouraged him to want a military career. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1948 and flew bombing runs in Japan, until he was transitioned into being a medical corpsman. He proudly served in the Korean War as a medical corpsman, including spending time in the MASH unit, made famous by the TV show, transporting casualties to planes bound for Japan. He also was responsible for taking care of POWs (Prisoners of War) during the Korean War.
